Asked Questions How many, and of what sex, deer can I shoot?
At Paradise Valley Hunting Club each hunter is allowed 2 bucks per day and one
doe per three day hunt. Doe season begins on September 15th. What
is included in a day rate or package? Your price is all inclusive. We
provide lodging, meals, and transportation to and from the stands. You are counted
for dinner and lodging the night before your first hunt and the night of your
last hunt. How far are you from other forms of entertainment?
Here at the camp we have a fully equipped game room with satellite TV and
internet, pool tables, ping pong, and cards. We also have a catch and release
pond for fishing. Nearby there is Broxton Bridge which offers horseback riding,
clay pigeons, released quail, pheasants, and ducks. Charleston, Savannah, and
Columbia are all within an hour and 15 minutes. What should I bring?
All you need to bring are your guns, hunting clothes, and personal items.
We provide linens, towels, pillows, etc. Where are you located?
We are in the Low Country of South Carolina off of Highway 601 in Bamberg County.
Where can I get my deer processed/quartered? The local processor
that we prefer to use is Southern Spice Venison Processing, which is within 5
minutes of the camp. Bring a cooler if you want to carry home a quartered deer.
The fee is $18.00 for skinning, hanging, and quartering, and $55.00 for a basic
processing. When is the rut? The main rut usually occurs about
October 10th to November 10th, but tends to vary year by year. In 2005 it carried
through Thanksgiving. How long do the bucks stay in velvet?
The bucks usually shed their velvet around Labor Day and begin to separate out
of their bachelor groups. How do I get my South Carolina Hunting
