Bow Hunting is now available at Bang's Paradise Valley Hunting Club in the Low Country of South Carolina.
In just four short seasons, we have been able to build a respected reputation for having as good of an opportunity as one can expect for South Carolina trophy whitetail hunting. We have held some of these lands for over 15 seasons where we have consistantly fed and managed for quality deer. Already in this young 07-08 season we have had multiple hunters seeing upwards of 15 bucks in one sitting. Our rifles hunters are consistantly successful on trophy class South Carolina Whitetails
About our Bow hunts
Despite this phenomonal success our rifle hunters have, we have not been able to offer that kind of success and consistency to our bow hunting clients. We have found that archery hunting whitetails over bait is productive for does and young bucks, but rarely successful for mature trophy class deer. As well, maintaining an unpressured situation that preserves the next hunters chances when hunting right on top of bait piles is next to impossible.
We are happy to now offer a tract of land where we can manage our feeding, food plot, and pressure management plans to provide a bow hunter with a reasonable chance of getting bow close to a trophy deer.
This is a bow only opportunity on pristine Low Country river bottom and oak ridge habitat. With nearly 1 mile of frontage on the Salkahatchee River, our bow hunters will hunt the small drainages, creeks, and game trails that criss cross from the daytime river bottom haunts to the evening feeding areas on the higher ground. Each hunter will be asigned his or her own area to locate active trails between the bedding and feeding areas. Hunters will provide their own stands. Climbers ladders loc on and ladder stick set up are all acceptable. Safety harness required on all stands at all times! Our feeding areas and food plots are strategically placed on the higher ground greatly increasing the daytime visibility for the deer in the river bottoms.
In the past hunts staged directly at the feed sources while effective initially, have put immense pressure on the deer and made consistency a problem for the rest of our hunters. We feel with our revised strategy that we can increase the likelyhood that our deer will remain "daytime" active in our bow hunting areas. Our plan is meant to insure our trophy deer wont simply stay under cover until well after dark as is common with all baited deer but most idefinately mature trophy classed bucks. This a is a smart bow hunting set up devised by some of South Carolina's most successful bow hunters, our staff. By hunting transition areas our deer remain in a pattern of traveling and foraging their way from bedding to feed.
About the Trophies
This property has been under a fifteen inch minimum spread rule for many years. The neighbors as well are all long term trophy management minded and deeply involved in their own similar trophy management goals. We intend on keeping with your many requests to offer a property with trophy potenial. Shooter bucks will have a 15 inch outside spread or better. Bucks in the 120 130 class are taken in and around this area each season. Does can be taken on or after September 15. Hogs are regulars on the property for most of the year. Bowhunters will be able to take one hog at no extra charge during this bowhunt. Additional hogs are $100.00 and all hogs that are shot at are considered a hog taken.
About your Hunt
We have broken this bow only hunting tract into individual sections. Each hunter will be assigned (Sections will be assigned by draw in the case of multiple bowhunters in camp at one time) his or her own area and allowed to scout the day prior to the hunt. When you arrive, the property will have been quiet for a minimum of 3.5 days. Again, due to the nature of deer to show at bait in the fading light we will not place feed in the river bottom.
*NOTE* Again we highly reccomend that our bow hunters come with the thought in mind that they will hunt a travel and forage pattern to feed rather than over feed. It is in all of our bowhunters best interest in terms of success to stick with this plan. Our experience has proven, bowhunting over corn close to bedding means deer stay bedded later and offer you the hunter less opportunity as a result. Not to mention each hunter encounter the deer have at a baited standsite greatly reduces future daytime visits.
Meals and Lodging
These hunts do NOT include meals and lodging. Lodging and meals may be able for $75.00 per day per hunter. However in an effort to keep these hunts reasonably priced and to minimize our expenses at the same time we have left the option to you to use other facilities. Please book early and make your lodging reservations early, we do not promise we will have a room for you without a reservation.

We schedule our bow hunting as follows:

Bow Hunt Period 3 (The Rut Hunt)
October 2-? Not much explanation is needed here, this is prime time, when the bucks are on the move and any moment any time of the day can bring the buck of a lifetime under your stand Price $600.00 per hunter
Bow Hunt Period 4 (The Meat Hunt)
